The picturesque Castell de Bellver is located on the hill, in Mallorca's capital, Palma. Close to the harbour, this stunning castle is one of the most spectacular Gothic castles in Europe and highlights include spectacular views of the bay, an inner courtyard, three tall towers, a moat and a museum, with many archaeological artefacts.

This magnificent Mallorca palace was built in the 13th century high in the mountains, so that its royal residents could enjoy the fresh mountain air and stunning scenery surrounding the building. The palace was soon converted into a grand monastery and is now the town's most popular landmark, featuring the excellent Museu Municipal Art Contemporani (Museum of Contemporary Art), a wooden drawbridge that connects the two chambers over the entrance to the palace and a 17th-century pharmacy, with a variety of ceramic and glass jars labelled with detailed descriptions of the contents.

This impressive royal residence was built in Mallorca in the early 1300s, using the walls of an existing Arab fortress. The Gothic palace features some stunning architecture, detailed, carved ceilings and guided tours are available. There is also a museum section, including the Santa Ana Chapel and a large Gothic drawing room that is used for official receptions.

Mallorca Landmarks: Consolat de Mar - Passeig de Sagrera, Mallorca, Spain
This elegant Renaissance building was built in Mallorca around 400 years ago and is now home to the government of the Balearic islands. The Consolat de Mar is a major landmark in Mallorca and faces the harbour. Inside there are many interesting features, including a splendid, decorated ceiling.

Mallorca Landmarks: Palau Episcopal and Museu Diocesa - Carrer Mirador, Mallorca, Spain
Mallorca's Palau Episcopal (Bishop's Palace) is situated just behind the cathedral and part of the building dates back almost 800 years. The Palau Episcopal is built around a large courtyard and is connected to the city walls. The Museu Diocesa (Diocese Museum) is housed in two large rooms in the palace and features many exhibits from churches in Mallorca and also majolica tiles.

Mallorca Landmarks: Son Morroig - north-east of Deia, Mallorca, Spain
The Mallorca landmark of Son Morroig is a medieval mansion that is stands high above sea level, offering some truly spectacular views of Mallorca. Built in 1276 and acquired in the 19th century by Austrian aristocrat Archduke Ludwig Salvator, the house also includes a museum dedicated to his life. Ludwig Salvator adored the island and spent much of his life exploring Mallorca and its neighbouring islands.

The Casa Olesa in Palma, Mallorca was built in the middle of the 16th century. This imposing, Renaissance building is one the most attractive houses in Palma, and although the house itself is private, you are able to admire the pretty courtyard through the iron gate.
